Expeditions
Most safaris offer you a seat in a game vehicle. We offer you a front-row seat to Namibia’s living landscapes.
Led by experienced Himba and Herero guides, our expeditions take you deep into the heart of Namibia’s most remarkable landscapes. As guests of the ovaHimba, you will camp in places that few outsiders have ever seen, encountering the people and wildlife who call this Arid Eden home.
Our expeditions are safe and comfortable, yet adventurous and awe-inspiring.
Conservancy Safaris expeditions are ideal for families – children are welcome – and groups of friends who want to share the experience of a lifetime. Our tailored expedition options are highly flexible, fitting in with your aspirations, fitness level (for hiking options), schedule and other travel plans. Why choose Conservancy Safaris?
Premier Expeditions
A life-changing expedition through the Kaokoveld accompanied by our experienced team who adapt the route and overnight stays according to recent rainfall patterns and local knowledge. Each tour is uniquely tailored to your interests and adapted to nature’s rhythms.
Your group will travel in 4x4s that are specially equipped to tackle the remote mountainous landscapes, with a driving guide who knows each route like the back of his hand. Each day will be spent discovering the desert’s beauty spots, tracking and spending quality time with desert-adapted wildlife, and meeting the people who call this Arid Eden home – no one day will be like any other!
Arriving at camp for the night, you will be greeted by the chef and camp staff who have travelled ahead to pitch camp, light the fire, and create a welcoming retreat in the remote location. Campsite locations are selected for their natural beauty and strategic location in relation to key wildlife habitats – places that few outsiders will ever find. Stays at lodges along the route may also be organised, depending on your group’s preferences.
Our team offers travel options to suit your needs. You can start and end your journey in Swakopmund or Windhoek, opt for a fly-in experience via our airstrip at Etaambura Lodge, or another bush strip; or any combination of these options. Whether you prefer a scenic drive through the Skeleton Coast or a shorter fly-in expedition, we’ll tailor the journey to ensure you make the most of your time in the wilderness.

Immersive, unforgettable adventures

On the trail of desert-adapted black rhinos
Best of Damaraland
Our newest expedition offering explores the southern parts of the Kunene Region, historically known as Damaraland. Conservancies in this area are renowned for their healthy population of desert-adapted black rhino. You will meet the local communities and rangers who are passionate about protecting this critically endangered species.
Your expedition into Damaraland from Swakopmund (or Windhoek) will last 4-7 days, during which time you will be expertly guided and catered for by our dedicated team. Besides the rhino, you will track desert-adapted elephant, lion and other wildlife while exploring the renowned dry riverbeds that criss-cross the rocky terrain.

Unlock the desert’s best-kept secrets
“What a privilege for our family of four (kids age 13 and 11) to spend two weeks in Namibia with the CSN team! Our guide Boas knew every path regardless of how remote and the camp team lead by Sonia had everything beautifully organised to make us feel comfortable and welcome at every stop.”
